We all know that heart attack is a severe problem for individuals not only in India but also in the whole world. It is one of the major causes of death. Factors for cardiac problems and heart attack include lifestyle, stress, rich diet habit, lack of physical activity and lots more. We eat oily and fatty foods, fried foods, and ghee in our daily routine diet. As a result of that cholesterol level increases in the blood which is the main cause of various heart diseases such as ischemic heart diseases, coronary artery diseases, angina pain, atherosclerotic of artery and so on.
There are two types of cholesterol. One is HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) and another is LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein). HDL cholesterol is known to be good for the body but LDL cholesterol is bad for us that considered as the main cause of all kinds of heart diseases. If we talk about LDL cholesterol, it is not really bad in its original form. In fact native LDL cholesterol is good and crucial for building healthy cells, other cell parts, and other essential hormones that our body needs to be. Native LDL cholesterol starts its adverse effect when oxidized by free radicals in the body and converts it into harmful cholesterol. There are many factors that are responsible for the overproduction of free radicals such as environmental pollutions, stressful lifestyle, and high nutrient diet.
Inside the arteries, there is a layer called endothelium which is very susceptible to even little irritation. Oxidize cholesterol and free radicals harm endothelium. Our body has a self defense system and protects the arteries to minimize the irritation by sending WBC (Monocytes). If everything goes well, damaged arteries will be repaired. But that doesn’t happen usually. Monocytes attempt to gather oxidizes LDL cholesterol but do not let it out. So oxidizes LDL cholesterol becomes a foam cell, a kind of ball of fat. Foam cells stick inside the arteries and make it harder to pass blood flow. That is called atherosclerotic plaque and it goes increasing and makes the arteries narrower. Generally the layer of endothelium releases nitrous oxide (NO) but it is blocked by it during this inflammatory response. It is proved that about 50% of heart attacks take place because of this plaque and clot around the plaque. Arteries are going to be narrower day by day and patients usually experience chest pain called unstable angina.
Hence, we need some powerful antioxidants to reduce the effect of free radicals that are responsible to convert native LDL cholesterol to harmful LDL cholesterol. Noni juice is rich in antioxidants that help to neutralize free radicals role of oxidation. Antioxidants consist of Vitamin A, C, E, beta carotene, glutathione, selenium, zinc and other useful photo chemicals. In addition to that noni juice helps to produce adequate nitrous oxide in our body and make endothelium to function efficiently.
